Tokyo, one of the centers of the global economy.
A suburban residential area where the city center is highly concentrated and nature spreads. ...And a well-developed public transportation network.
Tokyo, a massive metropolitan area that has enabled efficient urban and economic activities and developed and expanded with a lifestyle of "working in the city center and living in the suburbs," is undergoing significant changes due to recent urban regeneration.
Amid the serious challenges of population decline and aging, what kind of transformation will Tokyo undergo when the "sustainability" of this vast metropolitan area is viewed from the perspective of "living"? I would like to hear about the frontlines of the "revitalization" of the city center and suburbs currently underway, and consider the future "livability" of TOKYO. (Facilitator: Takayuki Ishikawa)

Yuichiro Kono
Director of Mori Building Co., Ltd. Senior Executive Officer Urban Policy Planning, Secretary, and Public Relations
After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at Komazawa University in March 1985, he joined Mori Building in April of the same year.
From 1987, he was responsible for rights adjustment and administrative consultations for the Roppongi Hills redevelopment, and in 1998, he became Chief Secretary,
After serving as Director in 2006 and Managing Director in 2009, he has held his current position since June 2013.

Member of the 2020 Future Development Subcommittee, Industrial Structure Council, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, etc.
Ryosuke Toura
Tokyu Corporation, Urban Creation Division, Development Division, General Manager Director
Joined Tokyu Corporation in 1985. After one year of station staff and conductor training, assigned to the urban development department. Seconded to Tokyu Research Institute in 1992. After returning to Tokyu Corporation in 1995, engaged in planning and development, engaged in commercial facility development and launching rental housing brands. Has held his current position since 2009.
Currently, he is responsible for marketing, promotion, branding, and area management along the Tokyu railway lines, and has been in charge of next-generation suburban town development at the Creative City Consortium in Futako-Tamagawa and Tama-Plaza. His books include "Current Knowledge vol.1: The Crisis and Revitalization of the Suburbs" NHK Books Special Issue / 2013 (co-authored), among others.
