Nikken Sekkei will participate in the 16th Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition, which will be held from May 26 to November 25, 2018, and will exhibit in the special exhibition “Time, Space,Existence.”

The Venice Biennale is a festival of the arts held at various venues throughout the Italian city of Venice. It has a history spanning more than 120 years, dating back to the first art exhibition held in 1895.

The venue for Nikken Sekkei’s exhibition is Palazzo Mora, a 17th-century palace. FC Barcelona “The New Camp Nou Project,” a renovation plan for a home stadium; “W350,” a concept for the world’s tallest timber skyscraper (concept development and timber engineering: Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd.; architectural and structural design: Nikken Sekkei), “Mokuzai Kaikan,” which demonstrated the potential of wood as a material for urban architecture, and “COOP Kyosai Plaza,” which was the first project to use a chain of intertwined plants as the main façade covering the building—you can enjoy these and various other architectural projects through CG images, photographs, drawings, videos, and models.
