Engineering Department: Structural Design Group Special Exhibition
"STRACTS (STRUCTURE+ACT⊃CONNECTION)" will be held.
Vitruvius of ancient Rome stated, “Architecture should be constructed in such a way that the principles of firmitas (strength), utilitas (utility), and venustas (beauty) are maintained.”To continue creating architecture that strikes a balance between “strength, utility, and beauty,” the Nikken Sekkei Structural Design Group has consistently embraced challenges and pursued continuous improvement. We approach design with a sense of initiative and have faced ever-changing social demands and natural threats that defy imagination with humility, never resting on our laurels despite our experience and knowledge.
Through this exhibition and its various displays and hands-on experiences, we hope to help you gain a tangible sense of the Structural Design Group’s technology, services, and creativity.
Sharing the joy with everyone involved in the buildings we design fuels our passion and drives our work.
We hope you will join us.
● The title of this exhibition, “STRACTS,” is a portmanteau of “STRUCTURE” and “ACT,” representing the very “activities” of Nikken Sekkei’s Structural Design Group from the past to the present.
