On March 22, Nikken Sekkei held an opening ceremony at THE OKURA PRESTIGE BANGKOK for Nikken Sekkei Thailand, a local subsidiary established in collaboration with its Thai partner, DUANGRIT BUNNAG ARCHITECT LIMITED (DBALP).
The ceremony was attended by more than 150 guests, including His Excellency Shiro Sadojima, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Thailand, and His Excellency Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Japan.
Speaking on behalf of the guests, His Excellency Sadojima touched upon the Thai government’s recent efforts to promote infrastructure development projects and the country’s aging society. He expressed Japan’s commitment to providing further support for Thailand’s growth in this year, which marks the 132nd anniversary of the signing of the Japan-Thailand Friendship Treaty.In addition, His Excellency Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Japan, spoke about the history of Thai rice being used as a raw material for Okinawan awamori, as well as Nikken Sekkei’s role in the development of Thailand’s construction industry.
With the establishment of Nikken Sekkei Thailand, Nikken Sekkei will strive not only to contribute to both Japan and Thailand through its technical expertise but also to serve as a cultural bridge between the two nations.
