"The Living Architecture Museum Festival Osaka" (commonly known as "Ikefes"), one of Japan’s largest architecture events—which annually opens Osaka’s fascinating architectural sites to the public for two days over a weekend in the fall—will be held on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25. Due to COVID-19 safety measures, this year’s Ikefes will be held virtually.Our company will also be presenting a variety of content as part of a virtual open house.
The content available on the Ikefes website includes building introductions, special programs featuring newly filmed videos, live talks by architecture specialists, and “Sekkei Road”—a collaborative program by nine architectural firms—totaling more than 140 items.
Ikefes Osaka has grown in popularity year after year. Following last year’s event—which featured 169 open buildings and attracted approximately 50,000 participants—the festival was recognized for its track record and became the first Japanese member to join Open House Worldwide, an international network of architectural open house events, adopting the English name “Open House Osaka.”On Saturday, November 14, and Sunday, November 15, the “Open House Worldwide Festival,” a collaborative event among member cities, is also scheduled to take place.
