Announcement of Participation in the Living Architecture Museum Festival Osaka 2021 (OPEN HOUSE OSAKA 2021)

Japan’s largest architecture event, the “Living Architecture Museum Festival Osaka” (commonly known as “Ikefes”), which opens Osaka’s fascinating architectural sites to the public simultaneously over two weekend days each fall, will be held on Saturday, October 30, and Sunday, October 31.As with last year, the event will be held primarily online in consideration of COVID-19 safety measures.Our company will also be hosting a virtual open house, featuring a variety of content such as building introductions and videos showcasing buildings in the Nakanoshima area. In addition to this, this year we will be holding an in-person exhibition of the highly versatile wooden unit“Tsunagi”*—which we planned and produced—in the semi-outdoor space of our Osaka office (Ginsen Yokobori Building), while taking infection prevention measures. We also plan to hold workshops (by reservation via the IkeFes website) in the exhibition area. We have prepared giveaways and look forward to welcoming you.
Furthermore, in recognition of its track record over the past two years, IkeFes Osaka was accepted as Japan’s first member of Open House Worldwide, an international network of architectural open-house events, and its English name was officially changed to Open House Osaka.On Saturday, November 13, we will also host the “Open House Worldwide Festival,” a collaborative event among member cities. We invite you to enjoy the diverse charms of architecture through both virtual and in-person experiences.
