Living Architecture Museum Festival Osaka 2022 (OPEN HOUSE OSAKA 2022)
Thank you for visiting.

SEMINAR/EVENT
2022.11.02
There are still many modern buildings in active use throughout Osaka City.
The “Living Architecture Festival Osaka 2022” (commonly known as “Ikefes”), which opens these buildings and contemporary architecture to the public, was held on Saturday, October 29, and Sunday, October 30. Nikken Sekkei’s Osaka Office participated again this year, following last year’s event.
This year marked the first in-person event in three years, and thanks to favorable weather, we welcomed 960 visitors over the two-day period.

The theme this year was “Exhibition: The Trajectory of Challenges—The Design Process Nobody Knows.”
There are many stories behind the completion of a building.
We presented the architectural design process—which is not usually known or seen—from the designer’s perspective, showcasing the designers’ struggles, various considerations, and project-specific approaches.
We also held a 3D acrylic model workshop, which was attended not only by adults but also by young children, who painted the models as they pleased to create their very own works of art.

Thank you to everyone who attended.
  • This year's theme is "The Design Process Nobody Knows About."

  • Many people were captivated by a graph that illustrated the designer’s emotional ups and downs as the design process progressed.

  • This year's workshop features 3D acrylic models. Even young children can give it a try.

  • The café area with the model display was also a huge hit.
