NIKKEN FORUM Webinar
The Potential of Mobility to Revitalize Local Communities
SEMINAR/EVENT
2024.11.15
In addition to global environmental issues, Japan’s rural areas and local communities are facing challenges such as a declining birthrate, an aging population, population decline, and economic stagnation, and are on a path toward decline.
To create regional communities where everyone can live autonomously and happily in the future, we will explore the potential for innovation by focusing on mobility—examining what kind of relationship should exist with urban centers, what assets should be utilized, and what kind of talent is needed. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Shoichiro Suzuki, Senior Advisor in the Personnel Division of the Minister’s Secretariat at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), who has served as Deputy Mayor of Kyoto City and Director of the Urban Planning Division at MLIT, and possesses extensive experience in regional revitalization. We hope this will be an opportunity to reflect together with you on what it means to build communities where everyone can live healthy and happy lives. We look forward to your participation.
