NIKKEN FORUM
How Should Companies Implement Inclusive Design?
~How to Expand the Space in Our Hearts~

SEMINAR/EVENT
2025.09.12
As the diversity of people active in society and economic activities continues to expand, the importance of creating environments and developing tools that allow these diverse individuals to express their unique strengths more naturally is also growing.Amid this trend, “inclusive design”—which involves engaging in dialogue with people with disabilities and others with diverse needs from the very planning stage of a project—is gaining attention. However, when it comes to putting this into practice, many planners may feel bewildered by the “differences” they encounter—whether in the people they are interacting with or in their own assumptions—and end up giving up without even getting started.

In this session, we will speak with Tatsuya Honda—developer of “Ontenna,” a user interface that uses technology to bridge the hearing gap—about what inspired him and his experiences, and we will discuss what companies and organizations should do to build an inclusive society. How can we expand our mental horizons and create designs that bring happiness to society? We hope you’ll join us.
