NIKKEN FORUM Webinar
Cities Transformed by Flying Cars
—Reflecting on the Near Future of Air and Ground Transportation Through Initiatives in Tokyo and Osaka—

SEMINAR/EVENT
2026.11.06
The “flying car” is on the verge of becoming a reality. The changes it will bring to our daily lives and businesses go far beyond simply “adding a new mode of transportation.”It signifies the birth of new urban infrastructure spanning diverse fields such as real estate, tourism, logistics, commercial facilities, healthcare, and disaster prevention. In this presentation, we will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of the basics of flying cars and the latest trends toward their societal implementation, while also introducing initiatives underway in Osaka Prefecture and Tokyo—Japan’s two major metropolitan areas.

Osaka Prefecture is advancing initiatives toward the societal implementation and industrialization of flying cars by leveraging the achievements demonstrated at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai World Expo, while Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting the “Flying Car Implementation Project” aimed at expanding their use into urban areas. We are pleased to welcome two guest speakers who are leading these initiatives at the forefront of their respective fields. They will discuss what will happen to our cities once flying cars are introduced and what new value and opportunities will emerge.

This lecture is packed with insights for thinking about the future of urban development—and we especially encourage those who have previously felt this topic was far removed from their lives to attend.
