After completing his master’s degree at the Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University, in 1989, he joined Nikken Sekkei.In 1995, he won the design competition for the Sendai Airport Passenger Terminal Building. Since then, he has been responsible for the design of airport facilities—including Asahikawa Airport and the New Chitose Airport International Terminal—as well as integrated station-town development projects such as Shin-Yokohama Cubic Plaza, Kirarina Keio Kichijoji, Torie Keio Chofu, and Shibuya Scramble Square the First Phase (East Tower).Drawing on this experience, in 2019 he served as editor for *The Appeal of Station-Town Integrated Development: TOD46* (published by Shinkenchiku-sha).During the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, he was involved in the restoration design for Sendai Airport, contributing to its full recovery in just six months. He is a First-Class Architect, a member of the Architectural Institute of Japan, a registered architect with the Japan Institute of Architects, and an APEC Architect.
