Takako Honda joined Nikken Sekkei after graduating from Kobe University in 1989. She specializes in architectural design, specifically medical and welfare-related facilities -- from small clinics to high functioning university hospitals. She places importance on client dialogue to create beautiful and easy-to-use hospitals, with harmonious form and function. She also actively disseminates information on Nikken Sekkei's medical facility design through lectures and writings. Her design for Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital won the Japan Institute of Healthcare Architecture Award. She is a registered first-class architect, an AIJ (Architectural Institute of Japan) member, a JIA (Japan Institute of Architects) board member, an APEC architect.
