The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko, and Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, Re-Innovation Project
Win MIPIM Asia 2021 Awards

(TOKYO) – The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko and Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, Re-innovation Project, two Nikken Sekkei-led architectural projects – each won accolades at the annual MIPIM Asia 2021 Awards in Hong Kong. Results were announced on December 8.

The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko won the Best Hotel & Tourist Development Silver Award. Nikken Sekkei designed the project, in cooperation with developer Tobu Railway Co., Ltd.

Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, Re-innovation Project also won the Silver Award for Best Refurbished Building. Nikken Sekkei and Taisei Corporation served as architects, along with developer Sumitomo Reality & Development Co., Ltd.

The top three projects in 11 categories were selected for shortlisting by a panel of judges. Final award winners were announced at the MIPIM Asia awards ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
