Minoru Kondo
Director
After completing his master’s degree at Kyoto University in 1985, he joined Nikken Sekkei. After working in structural design for nine years, he was stationed on-site at the Osaka Dome (now Kyocera Dome Osaka) for three years starting in 1994. Through his on-site experiences and the people he met there, he rediscovered the joy and fulfillment of creating things. After briefly returning to the Structural Design Department from the construction site, I was transferred to the Sales Department (now the Client Relations Department) in 2002. While I believe my network expanded beyond the confines of my role as a structural engineer and my horizons broadened, I also frequently came to keenly realize the challenges and hardships of sales.
In the 40 years since joining the company, I have had the opportunity to hold various positions, but no matter the role, hearing clients say, “We’re glad we entrusted Nikken Sekkei with the design and supervision,” is a feeling that nothing can replace.
