Mokuzai Kaikan She has been involved in projects of varying purposes and scales, including the Lazona Kawasaki Toshiba Building, the Toho Gakuen University Chofu Campus, and the interior design of the Kose Headquarters. She becomes involved from the earliest stages, even when the client’s requests and conditions are not yet fully defined. She reconfigures the program, circulation patterns, and sectional relationships to clarify the design framework. Even as needs and assumptions evolve, she maintains a bird’s-eye view of the project as a whole, integrating the design intent and updating the plan accordingly. Through repeated concrete examinations—such as verifying the consistency of material concepts and complex forms using 3D models—she translates her vision into drawings and physical spaces. She places great importance on the process of translating abstract concepts into implementable forms, organizing the division of labor, and maintaining design consistency. She strives to shape plans through dialogue, transcending differences in perspective and expertise.
