Innovative building environment based on past earthquake disaster
The aim was for this rental office building was to apply what has been learned from earthquake damage to achieving compatibility between safety and the environment. Safety was increased by using a slab ceiling with no hangers and nstalling air conditioners under the floors. Covered in herbs and ivy, the green balcony contributes both to a vibrant workplace and to the suppression of the heat-island phenomenon. Moreover, the introduction of various energy-saving echnologies resulted in a pleasant office space that people can adjust by themselves.
