Sakurajosui Gardens

"Sakurajosui Gardens" is a redevelopment project that replaced the "Sakurajosui Housing Complex" (404 units across 17 buildings), originally completed in 1965, with 8 buildings totaling 878 units. Resident-led discussions on redevelopment began approximately 30 years ago, and the project established a basic policy centered on a redevelopment plan that would allow residents to continue living there.To preserve the living environment of the housing complex—which had been cultivated over approximately 50 years—the project carefully retained multiple open spaces and approximately 180 trees, while also planting more than 360 new tall trees. By safeguarding this lush green environment, the project has enabled the continuation of community activities long carried out by residents and is fostering vibrant interaction between new and long-time residents.Furthermore, by addressing local concerns such as improving disaster resilience and establishing a community center accessible to residents, the project has enhanced the value of the area as a whole and aimed to create a sustainable living environment.
