Matsumura Daikichi

After graduating from the Department of Civil Engineering at Shinshu University’s Faculty of Engineering in 1984, I joined Nikken Sekkei. Following one year of structural design work, I began working on residential land development design in my second year. For the next 37 years, I was responsible for the planning and design of urban development projects and public facilities—such as roads and sewer systems—both domestically and internationally, for both government and private-sector clients. Throughout my nearly 40-year career at the firm, what has brought me the most joy is when clients have told me, “We’re glad we hired Nikken Sekkei. We’re glad you were our project manager.” I strive to carry out my work with that as my goal.
