Koji Okada

Design Director
Architectural Design Group,  Architectural Design Department

Born and raised in Kobe. After attending Koyo Gakuin, he graduated from the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts and joined Nikken Sekkei in 1990.A true architect and designer who, as long as he can create something, continues to sketch and refine details relentlessly, regardless of scale or field. His early works include the “Chirihama Hotel Yuka” and “Yodoyabashi Daibiru,” followed by the “Kyoto University Katsura Campus,” “Sanyo Shimbun New Headquarters,” “Jiaikai Taniyama Hospital,”“Mukogawa Women’s University Architecture Studio,” “Imperial Household Agency Shōsō-in Office,” “Grand Front Osaka,” “Sundai Yokohama Campus Building No. 2,” “Kokugakuin University Comprehensive Learning Center Building No. 6,” “Mitsui Garden Hotel Premier Jingu Gaien no Mori,” and “DaiyaGate Ikebukuro”—he has created more than 40 buildings over the past 30 years.Believing that every project is “the next project,” I pick up my pen again today.
