Takamori Yamazaki

In 1983, after completing his master’s degree at the Waseda University, he joined Nikken Sekkei. His specialty is architectural design. Since joining the firm, he has led numerous projects both in Japan and overseas—including a two-year assignment in New York—and has received numerous awards both domestically and internationally.Leveraging his extensive experience in many countries, he has shifted his focus to overseas projects since 2006 and has built a strong track record in skyscrapers and mixed-use developments across Asia and the Middle East. His recent works include the Astra Tower (Jakarta, 2017), 261 m: MIPIM ASIA 2018, Best Innovative Green Building Award), and the Tadawul Tower (Riyadh, 2023; 200 m: International Property Award 2014, Best International High-Rise Building Award; CTBUH 2023, Award of Excellence – Middle East & Africa), and One Al-Zabeel (Dubai, 2024; 301 m: CTBUH 2024, BTB Middle East & Africa Category Winner). First-Class Architect.Registered Architect in New York State. APEC Architect. Member of the American Institute of Architects, the Japan Institute of Architects, and the Architectural Institute of Japan.
