Wataru Tanaka

Born in Tokyo in 1983. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he interned at B.I.G. Following completion of his graduate studies at the University of Tokyo, he joined Nikken Sekkei. In 2015, he received the Good Design Award (Gold) for “Narita International Airport Terminal 3,”in 2020, he received the Kyushu Architecture Award (Project Award) for “Amakusa City Hall”; in 2023, he received the Federation of Architects’ Associations of Japan Architecture Project Award (Encouragement Award and U40 Architecture Award) for “Amakusa City: Kokorasu Complex”; and in 2024, he received the iF Design Award for “Uzabase Tokyo Office.”His publications include *The Architect’s Reading Club* (co-authored). He is a First-Class Architect and a member of the Architectural Institute of Japan.
