POLA Museum of Arts

A museum nestled in the woods that exhibits and houses a vast collection of approximately 10,000 works of art, primarily Impressionist paintings. Located deep within a national park, the design was carefully planned to coexist with nature without detracting from the beautiful surrounding environment. Most of the building is underground, and the museum’s central lobby is a bright space where natural light streams down through a four-story atrium from a skylight.
