An Apartment Complex Offering Views from a Hilltop

This project involves the design of an apartment complex situated on a hilltop on the site of the former Marine Meteorological Observatory, offering views of the sea, mountains, and the city of Kobe. To take full advantage of this prime location and panoramic views, the drop-off area and the mixed-use entrance building were positioned to face the Rokko Mountain Range, which stretches to the north of the city. In harmony with the building’s exterior shape—which responds to the site’s 15-meter elevation difference—rooftop terraces and tiered private terraces were incorporated, creating residences where residents can enjoy the views as part of their daily lives.
