Hiroyuki Usami

In 1987, after graduating from Shibaura Institute of Technology, he joined Nikken Housing Systems. His specialty is architectural design.Since joining the company, he has been in charge of urban housing projects of various scales and types, winning numerous awards. In addition to leading design Head of Construction Administration Department, he established the Life Innovative Design Research Institute to “design the mechanisms of daily life”—not just homes—and bring innovation to spaces and society, including local communities and individual lifestyles.Through various planning and product development initiatives, he oversaw projects ranging from regional development initiatives to community-building initiatives and product development. In 2019, he served as Representative Director of the company (President and CEO) before joining Nikken Sekkei in 2025. He is a First-Class Architect and a member of the Japan Institute of Architects, the Architectural Institute of Japan, and the Japanese Society of Landscape Architecture.
