Tomoyuki Someya

After completing his graduate studies at Chiba University, he joined Nikken Sekkei in 1994.While engaged in architectural structural design, he also conducts design studies related to fire-resistant structures, a field he researched during his graduate studies. In structural design, he has been responsible for numerous seismically isolated hospitals and received the Special Award from the Japan Seismic Isolation Structure Association in 2012 for his work on the Ishinomaki Red Cross Hospital. In the field of fire-resistant structures, he earned a Doctor of Engineering degree from Chiba University’s Graduate School in 2006.
Since 2017, he has focused primarily on disaster prevention and business continuity planning (BCP), providing consulting services in collaboration with members of various group departments to develop preparedness measures (BCP strategies) against various natural disasters.
