Guangzhou Library

Offering a selection of 3.5 million books to browse through, this large-scale library has few precedents anywhere in the world. It was designed to be a facility that is open to the citizens, while projecting a dynamic yet accessible image as a place “people can enjoy making part of their lives.” Flows of foot traffic inside the building are also designed around see-through elevators and escalators to provide a sense of openness and to make it easy for visitors to find where they want to go.
